Gallery Woo was established in Yeoksam, Seoul in 1989. In 2006, the gallery was moved to Marine City in Haeundae, Busan. After a while, Gallery Woo was relocated to Haeundae Grand Hotel in 2011 and introduced a number of artworks until 2019. Now the gallery is settled in Haeundae Beach Golf and Resort, for a better exhibition.
Gallery Woo is a creative cultural space, all about presenting art such as picture, sculpture, and pottery. The gallery is also a cultural medium that connects the outstanding artist to the world of art in Korea. With a rich experience in directing and curating a number of exhibitions, Gallery Woo focuses on the art consulting in living and public facilities.
Gallery Woo has participated in the art fairs such as KIAF, Art Busan, PULSE Miami, Art Taipei and so on, extending its range of activities.
갤러리 우( GALLERY WOO )는 1989년 서울 강남 역삼동에서 강남화랑으로 문을 열었다. 이후, 2006년 부산 해운대 마린시티 아델리스에서 갤러리 우( GALLERY WOO )로 개명 및 이전 오픈하였으며 2011년 해운대 그랜드호텔 레저로비 ( HAEUNDAE GRAND HOTEL )로 이전 후 2019년까지 운영되다 작품 감상을 위한 더 넓고 쾌적한 공간을 위해 해운대 비치 골프 앤 리조트로 이전하여 운영되고 있다.
갤러리 우는 회화, 조각, 도자기, 공예 작품 등의 다양한 예술 장르를 소개하는 창의적 문화공간으로 국내외 우수한 작가들을 국내 미술계에 소개함으로써 현대 대중미술의 흐름을 반영하는 문화 매개체로서의 역할을 하고 있다. 아울러 다양한 기획경험을 바탕으로 근린시설 및 주거공간, 공공미술 아트컨설팅에도 주력하고 있다.
또한, 갤러리 우는 KIAF, ART BUSAN 등 국내유명 아트페어와 PULSE MIAMI, ART TAIPEI 등 해외 유명 아트페어에 참여함으로써 국내를 넘어 해외로 까지 활동 영역을 넓혀 가고 있다.
